About

History

Gwynfryn (loosely translated means white hill) was built by the Wesleyan Methodists in 1873 as a residence for the superintendent preacher of the Tabernacl Chapel. In December 2003 we bought Gwynfryn in a run down condition and set about transforming her. Finally in August 2005 we opened Gwynfryn Bed and Breakfast. Offering 5 tastefully furnished bedrooms; each with its own unique character.

Today

Gwynfryn Bed and Breakfast is now an established and reliable accommodation provider in Conwy. Continuing to grow our worldwide reputation as a perfect place to stay when visiting Conwy or North Wales.
We continue to update and freshen the unique decor using Monica’s eclectic and wonderful taste. Striving to not only offer beautiful accommodation but also a memorable stay.

Awards & Accolades

We have been accredited a Four Star Guest House by Visit Wales.
At the beginning of 2008 we received our first award from Tripadvisor in recognition of our amazing reviews. Being awarded 8th Best B&B in Europe. This was followed in May 2008 when we received an invite from the Queen to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the British Hospitality Industry.
Over the years we have continued to receive many awards in recognition of our wonderful reviews. Many of these coming through the world’s largest travel website; Tripadvisor including the ‘Certificate of Excellance’ for the last 3 years.

Your Hosts

Having previously both worked in high pressured business enviroments, we made the decision to get out of the rat race. We wanted to create our own B&B and work for ourselves. Once we had found Gwynfryn we knew we had discovered something special. We left the hustle and bustle of Manchester and moved to the tranquil beautiful town of Conwy.
